The furry tree

Spotted this interesting tree recently whilst on a neighbourhood walk.  Looks like the tree is reacting to tree surgery by sprouting growth from anywhere possible.  Not seen this before in a fir tree (at least not to this extent).

Spotted this whilst waiting from lunch…

Base of tree in Park in Burbank California

Taken the a ghost town called Belleville which is located about 8 miles North of Big Bear Lake City in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. This area is now in the San Bernardino National Forest. Parts from the movie Paint Your Wagons were film at this location. Not much more than foundations still remain.  This is a Juniper tree that was the hanging tree; every time that there was a hanging the hanging branch was cut off, so there are many branches missing from this tree.
