Like the Voigtländer Prominent, my Miranda Sensorex has just had a CLA and for it’s first run out I used FujiPro 400 film.
Film 5 was Kodak Portra which I shot in my Miranda Sensorex as it’s last hurrah before it goes up for sale. I have two and only need one, the other is away for CLA and so once it gets back should be in top shape; this one which works really well can find a new home.
I do like Portra; it’s becoming my preferred choice for colour film photography.

I found this odd structure down in LA; it seems to be a 30 foot periscope of sorts. I suspect the mirror at the top isn’t the original as it is not very effective. The weather was dry (ish) and I managed a few shots.

The first film was already loaded in my Voigtländer Prominent (currently fitted with the Ultron 50mm 2.0 lens) and was the Fuji Pro 400 film.
I decided that as I was heading to the West of LA anyway for an evening get-together with Cameras and Beer, I would spend an hour or two at the Getty Center. They were running an exhibition of Sally Mann that I was keen to visit and also I love the architecture around the Getty.
I mentioned this a couple of times in recent posts here and here.
I have put two films through this camera and it has quickly become a favourite. I have been eyeing up Mirandas for some time but I didn’t really have what I felt was a justification so not taken the plunge and then I saw this one for $20 and thought “why the hell not?”
It arrived shortly afterwards and although its not the cleanest example it’s in pretty good condition. Continue reading “Cameras: Miranda Sensorex”
