I took a short break from posting after my Photo Month Challenge; not necessarily on purpose but it happened, anyway two things to talk about today…
Yesterday I gave a little back to the community and volunteered at Operation Gratitude who annually sends 200,000+ care packages filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home.
Their mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the Military and First Responder communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve.
The day consisted of being part of a production line to pack boxes with candy for serving military and also to help review letters from Children across the country written to veterans expressing gratitude.
This is a worthy cause supporting those who risk or have risked their lives for the rest of us so if you have time and are looking for a way to give back check them out.
After finishing that, as we were walking back to our car I noticed signs for a tasting room and the suggestion of beer. I couldn’t not call in to check them out. It turned out to be a small brewery called Hand-Brewed Beer and I sampled a flight consisting of; White, IPA, Red IPA and a Brown
We also tried a serrano pepper spiced IPA which was very fiery.
All were very good, I particularly liked the IPA which had good strong flavours all round, great for a December afternoon. If you are in the area of Chatsworth or see them on the menu somewhere, I recommend checking them out.
